About Ameena
Ameena Qobrtay is a Licensed Social Worker with a specialization in Trauma and Interpersonal Violence who received her Master's in Social Work from Rutgers University. Ameena brings a trauma-informed and humanist lens to therapy. She understands how identity and marginalization within systems of power can increase vulnerability to interpersonal violence and the lasting impacts of trauma. Ameena has experience working with survivors of interpersonal violence, systemic violence, and generational violence. Her approach to treatment changes based on a client's needs, but she emphasizes trauma informed approaches through empowerment and autonomy, elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Whether you're coping with trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply looking for support, Ameena believes therapy is a collaborative process where healing happens through safety, authenticity, and connection.
